A family of four wish to transform their empty, run-down walled garden into a beautiful space full of fruit, vegetables and ornamental plants.

It must include an orchard, herbs and vegetable plots and provide functional workspaces and water butts.

Situated in the warmer South West of the UK, this walled garden is designed with a Mediterranean feel. The plan is sectioned into Classical proportions, including a gravel herb garden, a Victorian orangery walk and a traditional glasshouse. Every plant is edible - including fruit, vegetables and perennial vegetables. The flower borders are made up entirely of edible flowers.

The layout is designed to lead the users continuously through the space, ensuring that no part goes unused or unnoticed.
